Red Ginger Owners Receive 2021 Lyle DeYoung Award

By Beth Milligan | Oct. 30, 2021

Red Ginger owners Dan and Pam Marsh received the 2021 Lyle DeYoung Award this week from the Downtown Traverse City Association. The award is presented by the DTCA to a community member or members who have "made a significant contribution to the vitality of downtown Traverse City."

The Marshes purchased the Kurtz Building on Front Street in 2007 with a vision of bringing high-end Asian cuisine to downtown Traverse City, according to the DTCA. "They not only saved a historical building but built upon and elevated the food cultural scene, putting downtown Traverse City on the map for a food culture cuisine," the DTCA wrote in a release.

Past Lyle DeYoung Award winner Dave Denison of Amical, located next to Red Ginger, said the Marshes are "community loyal." Traverse City DDA CEO Jean Derenzy said downtown "is incredibly grateful for everything that Pam and Dan have done to in the past 14 years to elevate the incredible cuisine and place we call downtown traverse City."
