Ribbon-Cutting At New Solar Array

Oct. 24, 2017

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the M-72 Solar Project has been rescheduled to Thursday, Oct. 26, at 11:30am. Traverse City Light & Power, the City of Traverse City and Heritage Sustainable Energy, LLC are inviting the public to attend the event commemorating the completion of the project. The ceremony will take place at the site, located at 8109 East Traverse Highway.

The 3,400 panel solar array is a project by Heritage Sustainable Energy, which owns the windmill on the site on M-72 just west of Traverse City. The project is another part of the city’s push to power all its government operations with renewable energy by 2020.
