Robotics/Tech/Gaming Center To Host Grand Opening Saturday

By Beth Milligan | Oct. 13, 2017

A new maker/tech/robotics/gaming space will host its grand opening at Logan's Landing Saturday.

Quarkmine Space is an all-ages center located in nearly 4,000 square feet in the shopping center's pyramid building. For the past year, Quarkmine has worked with 13 different school districts around the region in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities, particularly competitive robotics. The organization’s storefront will offer multiple robotics platforms, but also manufacturing equipment, 3D printers, computer programming language courses, and more. Quarkmine will offer classes for both kids and adults covering a wide range of tech-related fields, as well as open community creative challenges.

"Whether you want to tinker, program, learn, compete, or game - when it comes to technology, Quarkmine Space has you covered," according to the organization. "Quarkmine Space is also a great place to hang out, work, make and collaborate."

The grand opening celebration will take place Saturday from 10am to 4pm. There is no entry cost, and attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a Nintendo Super NES Classic Edition.
