Self-defense for All - Free

Oct. 12, 2012

In response to the recent assault on the Boardman Lake Trail, the Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office, Metro Fire Department and the Garfield Township Parks and Recreation Commission have teamed up to offer a self-defense workshop that’s free and open to everyone this Saturday, October 13. Sgt. Preston Taylor of the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office will teach participants how to avoid becoming a victim, and the skills needed to respond quickly and effectively to threatening situations. The workshop will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Grand Traverse Metro Fire Station No. 12 at 2025 N. East Silver Lake Rd (part of Silver Lake Park). Parking is limited at the fire station; overflow parking available in the adjacent Silver Lake Park. Any questions? Please contact: TCparks2012@gmail.com.
