Seven Candidates Certified For City Commission Race

By Beth Milligan | July 27, 2021

With a deadline now expired for candidates to withdraw their filed petitions for candidacy, the City of Traverse City has certified seven candidates who will appear on the November election ballot for city commission. The candidate list includes:

Two-year term for mayor expiring November 13, 2023 (one seat available):
Richard I. Lewis

Four-year terms for city commission expiring November 10, 2025 (three seats available):
Mi Stanley
Tim Werner
Mark L. Wilson

One partial two-year term for city commission expiring November 13, 2023 (one seat available):
Tim Pulliam
Merek Roman
Mitchell Treadwell

The certified list is the same as the original list of candidates who filed for office; no candidates withdrew their names for consideration on the ballot. "Running for office is not only a great a way to give back to your community, but a courageous effort that takes personal sacrifice," says City Clerk Benjamin Marentette. "We are grateful to have residents that have stepped forward to shape the future of the City of Traverse City."
