Traverse City yoga studio Shanti School of Yoga is closing its doors at 2074 South Airport Road in Logan's Landing at the end of this month.

Co-founders Kelly Stiglich and Rain O'Dwyer sent a letter to customers this weekend informing them of the closure. "We are sad to share that because of an unexpected notice of a large increase in our rent and the lack of building maintenance and repairs, Shanti School of Yoga has made a business decision to no longer invest in the Logan’s Landing property," the duo wrote. "Shanti’s final day of classes will be Friday, August 26."

Stiglich and O'Dwyer thanked the teachers and volunteers who have been with the business for the past five years, saying "this news is in no way a reflection of (their) dedication, expertise and strong contribution." The co-founders advised customers to keep an eye on the company's schedule over the next few weeks, as some class changes may be made due to the pending closure.
