Sunrise Rotary Announces Its Grants

The Rotary Club of Traverse Bay Sunrise Foundation has announced the recipients of its annual mini-grant awards. The foundation awarded twelve organizations with funds totaling $10,000. The organizations and programs are:

Acme Christian Neighbors - food Pantry
Alden Volunteers - new racquet court
Bike Leelanau - construction of bicycle/recreation trail
Central High School - virtual microscopic software
Eastern Elementary - Mimio Teach whiteboard for music instruction
Kingsley High School Student Council - food pantry
Northern Michigan Supportive Housing - permanent housing program
Power Book Bags - bags and supportive materials
Silver Lake Elementary - Literacy at Home
Step Up Northern Michigan - re-stock community closet at Traverse Heights Elementary
Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center - culturally-sensitive books and games
Women’s Resource Center - new laundry facility at Helen’s House Shelter

Grant priorities of the Sunrise Foundation are arts/culture, basic human needs, environment, health and safety, recreation, education, and youth.
