TC Farmers Market Opens Tomorrow

The Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market in Traverse City opens for the season tomorrow, Sat., May 4, 7:30 a.m. to noon. Traditionally, the market has opened Mother's Day weekend, but has been bumped up this year for its earliest opening ever. Rob Bacigalupi of the TC DDA says rules were tweaked over the winter to strengthen the market's reputation as a "growers" market. As such, pure resellers – even those grandfathered in the past – are no longer allowed at the market. The weekly Wednesday market will open in June.
