TC Man Arrested In Connection To Multiple Break-Ins

By Beth Milligan | Aug. 17, 2018

A 32-year-old Traverse City man has been arrested in connection to multiple shed and tool trailer break-ins in Garfield Township.

Kyle Logan Yanke is facing numerous charges related to the break-ins, including three breaking-and-entering charges, possession of burglary tools, and a habitual offender offense. Two of the breaking-and-entering charges relate to stealing between $1,000 and $20,000 worth of property. According to the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office, authorities received reports of several shed and tool trailer thefts in Garfield Township around the dates of July 13-14. Multiple pieces of stolen property were later located and recovered by detectives in the Kalamazoo area.

Detectives subsequently identified Yanke as a suspect and arrested him on a parol detainer on August 2. He has been lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail since that date, authorities announced Thursday. An active investigation remains open against Yanke, who has been linked to additional crimes in Traverse City. Those incidents are being investigated by the Traverse City Police Department.
