TC Ride Of Silence Scheduled For May 17

April 24, 2017

Traverse City area cyclists are invited to participate in The Ride of Silence on May 17, "a silent slow-paced ride in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways."

Cyclists across the world are expected to participate in the event, which attracted 445 rides in close to 50 countries in 2016. The event aims to draw awareness of cyclists' presence and legal right to safely share public roads. In Traverse City, riders will meet at the Depot parking lot at 642 Railroad Place at 5:30pm. The five-mile ride will begin at 6pm. All event participants are required to wear helmets and follow the rules of the road in order to join the ride, with ride speeds set at 12mph max.
