A Traverse City woman was arrested this weekend on an outstanding warrant and is facing new charges after a large quantity of drug paraphernalia and 33 grams of meth were found in her possession.
Michigan State Police troopers were on patrol at the Carson Square apartment complex on Linden Avenue just before 9pm Saturday when they spotted 38-year-old Alicia Ann Kik unloading luggage from the driver side door of a parked vehicle. "Troopers were familiar with Kik from past drug and overdose investigations," accordng to an MSP release. "Kik had a warrant for her arrest, and she was taken into custody."
During her arrest, Kik requested that troopers place her luggage back inside her car on the driver’s seat. Kik had left the driver side door open. When troopers placed her bag in the vehicle, they saw a ripped plastic bag with suspected methamphetamine residue. A further search of the vehicle was conducted, and troopers located a large quantity of methamphetamine in Kik’s purse and evidence of drug sales and delivery. Troopers also located a large quantity of paraphernalia including used methamphetamine pipes, syringes, a mirror for cutting/separating drugs, spoons, straws, and a loaded syringe with liquid meth. Two white powdery substances tested positive for methamphetamine. The total amount of methamphetamine seized was approximately thirty-three grams.
Kik was lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail. She was arraigned Thursday in 86th District Court on charges of controlled substance possession with intent to deliver and being a habitual offender. Her bond was set at $100,000 cash surety. Kik's next scheduled court appearance is on May 16 at 11am.
