Three Teens Charged With Larceny

July 3, 2015

Three Traverse City teenagers are facing larceny charges following a car-looting spree in the early morning hours Thursday near Green Meadows Drive in Garfield Township.

A caller alerted deputies around 4:30am that cars were being illegally entered by multiple suspects, who were now heading towards East Silver Lake Road. Deputies located the three suspects near the intersection of Zimmerman and Silver Lake Roads. Money and other miscellaneous items were recovered from the teenagers. Two 18-year-old suspects were arrested and taken to Grand Traverse County Jail on larceny from auto charges, with one facing an additional charge of minor in possession of alcohol. A 16-year-old juvenile is also being petitioned into Probate Court on a larceny charge.

All of the vehicles targeted by the teenagers were unlocked.
