By Beth Milligan | Feb. 24, 2023

Two women were hospitalized following a collision between a car and a USPS vehicle Thursday on Cedar Run Road.

Authorities responded to a personal injury crash blocking Cedar Run Road and NE Li Wa Lane in Long Lake Township just before 3pm Thursday. A preliminary investigation indicates a USPS vehicle was traveling westbound on Cedar Run Road when the driver lost control, crossed the center line, and struck an eastbound vehicle.

The driver of the USPS vehicle, a 30-year-old woman from Pentwater, was critically injured. The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 53-year-old woman from Cedar, was seriously injured. Both were transported to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City for treatment.

Michigan State Police troopers were assisted on the scene by Long Lake Emergency Services Fire and EMS, Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office, Bingham Towing, and the MSP Accident Reconstruction Unit.
