Water Outage Planned Wednesday in BOOM Neighborhood

By Beth Milligan | Jan. 12, 2026

A water outage will affect the BOOM (Base of Old Mission) neighborhood for several hours Wednesday while Traverse City crews make repairs.

The city's Water and Wastewater Maintenance Division will be performing upgrades to the water system on Wednesday, January 14 for approximately four to six hours, requiring the water system to be temporarily shut down fully during that time. Work is anticipated to start after 8:30am. Residents are suggested to draw water in advance for drinking, cooking, and flushing toilets.

The area affected will be all homes north of Cherrylane on Bloomfield, Highland Park, Timberlane, Nakoma, Arrowhead, Kewaunee, Cuyahoga, and Kaukauna.
