West Shore Hospital In Talks With Munson On "Closer Ties"

Sept. 4, 2015

The Board of Trustees for West Shore Medical Center in Manistee has announced its intention to explore "strengthening the hospital's current relationship" with Munson Healthcare.

Board Chairman John Hoch says the Board remains focused on positioning the hospital for a strong and successful future – "ensuring the right mix of close-to-home health care services in Manistee and surrounding communities for many years to come."

However, the board feels that a tighter partnership with the Munson Healthcare system could give the hospital access to resources needed to achieve that goal.

West Shore has been affiliated with the Munson system since 1998. Manistee County owns the hospital, but no tax dollars support it and the county doesn't participate in the hospital's operation.
