"Where Are They Now?" Pt.2

Oct. 11, 2010

In August, The Ticker brought you the first “Where are they Now?” and tracked down former local TV personalities; with such fantastic feedback, here’s the sequel.

Jayne Smith (7&4 Meteorologist 2006-2009)
Do I need an umbrella this weekend or not? That’s the question Jayne Smith answered for viewers for three years as the weekend meteorologist at 7&4. She left the station almost a year ago, but still lives in Traverse City, where she’s looking for the perfect job in the arts or public relations. It’s been a busy year for Smith, who has been planning her October 10th wedding, volunteering at the Grand Traverse Area Historical Society, and is a judge for Swing Shift and the Stars.

Doug Petcash (9&10 Anchor 1999-2007)
For more than a decade Petcash was an anchor at 9&10. You can now find him out west in Boise, anchoring the morning show at KTVB (7&4 alumni Stacey Skrysak and Adam Bartelmay work in the same market, but at a different station). In his spare time he enjoys writing music, reading, and photography. Petcash says he misses his loyal viewers, co-workers, the lakes, and the lighthouses -- but definitely doesn’t miss the snow.

Kristin Maciorowski (7&4 Anchor/Reporter 2004-2009)
Maciorowski and her husband moved to Chicago in 2009 to be closer to family. Along with being a media relations specialist, Maciorowski is also a wedding coordinator assistant. Last year she went to Poland with her parents, sister, and grandmother, who left the country decades ago after the war. Kristin reports she enjoys catching up with other 7&4 alumni, including former reporter Lisa Dornan, who also lives in the Windy City.

Erica Morehouse (7&4 Sports Anchor/Reporter 2002-2005)
In 2005 Morehouse moved to Cleveland, where she is now manager at the Cleveland Clinic News Service, a news bureau within the Cleveland Clinic. She and her husband have a 19-month-old son and are expecting another child this spring. Morehouse says she loves being able to watch sports on the weekends now instead of covering them (her favorite teams are the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills).

Brian Lawson (7&4 Sports Reporter/Anchor 1997-2001, 9&10 Sports Director 2002-2006)
After stints at both 7&4 and 9&10, Lawson left TV to become the director of public relations at Crystal Mountain. In 2008, he followed Brad Dean, Crystal’s director of golf, during the PGA Championship. In March he returned home to Indianapolis to cheer on his alma mater, Butler University, in the Final Four. Now that Lawson is no longer working nights, he and his four year-old daughter Eva are regulars at local sporting events.

Molly Henneberg (7&4 Anchor/Reporter 1997-1999)
In 2001 Henneberg left Traverse City to join Fox News Channel in Washington D.C., starting as a producer, then a reporter. Her assignments have taken her across the country and the world, including Iraq and Afghanistan – and several trips aboard Air Force One. Married two years ago, Henneberg’s husband was deployed to Afghanistan for six months and returned safely. Henneberg says she misses the spirit of hospitality and kindness of Traverse City. “I tell everyone that people in TC would give you the shirt off their backs in sub-zero weather if you were in need.”
