Willamsburg Couple Found Dead In Suspected Murder-Suicide

An elderly couple found dead in their Williamsburg home Saturday likely died as the result of a murder-suicide, authorities reported this morning. Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home of Thomas and Sharon Tracy shortly before noon Saturday. The couple, ages 75 and 76, were found in the lower level of their home. Investigators found a shotgun nearby.
Lt. Chris Barsheff says that while it appears that Thomas Tracy shot and killed his wife before he turned the gun on himself, investigators are still searching for a motive. Family members found the couple Saturday and called police, but investigators still don’t know when the couple died.
Investigators were at the couple’s Brackett Road house for nine hours; they were assisted by crime scene processors from the state police.
