
Winter Hike, Ski At Sleeping Bear

As part of it 50thanniversary activities, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is offering a nighttime snowshoe and/or cross-country ski on Saturday, Feb. 8. Park rangers and volunteers from the Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes will serve as guides for the event, taking place from 6-8pm at the Dune Climb. The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail will be lit by luminaries and a full moon. The event is free with a park pass.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own cross-country skis and/or snowshoes, though snowshoes will be loaned on a first-come, first-served basis. Park rangers will provide information along the route. Visitors are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp and wear layers. The National Lakeshore is planning special programs and events each month in 2020. Click here for all the events and activities.
