April 8, 2017

The Zonta Club of Traverse City awarded $20,000 in grants to seven northern Michigan nonprofits this week.

Grant sizes ranged between $1,000 and $5,5000 and were awarded to the following organizations: Girl Scouts, Grand Traverse Pavilions, The Rock of Kingsley, Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center, Angel Care Child Care, Girls on the Run, and Students United For Gender Rights at Northwestern Michigan College. Grant funds come from Zonta fundraisers including the Festival of Trees, Z-Tee Golf Outing and fall Fashion Show.

"This year's grantees are working to improve the lives of women in our local community through STEM education, subsidized child care, self-defense classes and various other initiatives," Zonta said in a statement.
