Anti-Bullying Conference October 17

The third annual Anti-Bullying Conference will take place Fri., Oct. 17, at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City. The conference is presented by the Northwest Michigan Regional Anti-Bullying Task Force, in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and Northwestern Michigan College.

The focus of this year's event is student engagement, including how to be an upstander – a person who speaks up or stands up to bullying and intolerance – and starting a Not In Our Schools (NIOS) campaign to create a safe and inclusive environment for all students. The conference is appropriate for parents, helping professionals, high school student leaders and community members.

The event runs from 8:30am to 2:30pm; admission is free and lunch is provided. To register, click here.
