Bayshore Marathon Cancelled For 2020

By Beth Milligan | March 24, 2020

The Traverse City Track Club has cancelled the 2020 Bayshore Marathon on May 23 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Racers who have already registered for the event have three options: Defer their entry before May 23 to the 2021 event, donate their entry by May 1 and receive a tax-deductible donation letter, or request a partial refund by April 6 (50 percent of refunds - which are normally not granted - will be held back to preserve the race's long-term survival and cover expenses already incurred). Racers can find these options under their RunSignUp account under Profile > Upcoming Events > Bayshore > Manage Registration.

"Most of the expenses for the 2020 event have been paid leading up to the event, and we are committed to preserve our charitable giving," organizers said in a release. "Our appeal to you is to continue to support our race in the best way possible for all concerned."

The Bayshore Marathon is scheduled to next take place on May 29, 2021.
