Beach Advisories Issued For Acme, Omena

July 29, 2016

A Level 2 advisory was issued for Acme Bayside Park Beach and Omena Beach Thursday due to elevated E.coli levels. The alert means contact with the water above the waist is not advised at those beaches. Wading, fishing and boating are all acceptable, and other recreational activities on the beaches are still available.

Since Thursday's advisory came based on tests taken Wednesday, both beaches were retested again Thursday. The results are expected to be available by noon today (Friday). If E.coli levels have returned to normal, the advisories will be lifted.
