Car Crashes Into Empire Township House

A 27-year-old Fenton woman was cited over the weekend after crashing into a house in Empire Township.

Leelanau County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the intersection of West Glenmere Road and Benzonia Trail Saturday at 2:45pm in reference to a traffic crash. An investigation determined the Fenton woman was driving north on Benzonia Trail when her vehicle slid through the intersection at West Glenmere Road, then continued off the north side of the roadway and struck a residence. The collision caused damage to the home's garage, as well as a vehicle and lawn tractor in the garage.

No on was injured in the traffic crash. The driver was issued a speed violation for driving too fast for conditions.
