End of Season Happenings at Hickory, Holiday

March 6, 2026

Traverse City's two local ski hills have announced closing dates/celebrations:

Mt. Holiday will be closed March 9–12 to preserve snow for the annual slush cup, which will occur on Saturday, March 14 as part of the end of season bash. Highlights include $10 lift tickets, the slush cup at 11 a.m., a slope-side DJ and $3 hotdogs. The T-Bar & Grill remains open and will shift into spring hours starting March 17.

Hickory Hills will hold its own slush cup on Sunday, March 15 from 1 to 3 p.m.

What is a slush cup? It's a "fan-favorite tradition" that challenges skiers and snowboarders to make it across a giant pond of icy water - often in the most outrageous costumes possible.

Those who want to compete can register at Hickory from 11 am to noon the same day in the lodge. Information on Holiday registration was not immediately available.
