Cherry Festival Presents Checks, Mayoral Gift

National Cherry Festival officials conducted an event at Clinch Park in downtown Traverse City yesterday to thank the community for the "best Cherry Festival ever." Officials showcased a check totaling more than $28,000 to be donated to local charities and a check for $15,000 to be donated to the Boom Boom Club, which raises funds for Traverse City Fourth of July fireworks. Cherry Fest Executive Director Trevor Tkach also presented TC Mayor Michael Estes a comemmorative print of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels as a gift to the city and an acknowledgement of the city's efforts during the festival.
