City Commissioners To Be Sworn In Tonight

Traverse City Clerk Benjamin Marentette will swear in newly elected and reelected commissioners Christie Minervini, Roger Putman, Amy Shamroe, and Ashlea Walter at the Govermental Center tonight (Monday) at 7pm. Mayor Jim Carruthers will also be sworn in for another term. All five commissioners will officially assume their offices upon taking their oaths.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the commission will select one of its members to serve as mayor pro tem for a two-year term. Commissioners will then make various appointments to boards as part of the commission's organizational meeting.
