Join Us For Recess Wednesday at TVC, Win Airline Vouchers & More!

Feb. 2, 2026

Recess is BACK with a new format for 2026 featuring four events per year - one per quarter - to make each event bigger and better than ever! Every Recess event will include a giveaway of a $100 downtown Traverse City shopping spree and an annual subscription to the TC Business News, plus host prizes always valued at over $250.

For our first event, join The Ticker for a special winter getaway Recess at Cherry Capital Airport this Wednesday, February 4 - where we'll give away not one but TWO airline vouchers valued at $500! Prizes will also include a one-night staycation at Hotel Indigo, two sets of tickets to the upcoming Murder Mystery Fundraiser for the Old Town Playhouse at Hotel Indigo (Feb 20-22), and the $100 downtown shopping spree and annual TCBN subscription. Attendees at The Ticker's monthly after-work happy hour will enjoy socializing in the airport lounge area and delicious food including a hot chili bar, corn bread, and sweet treats provided by Cherry Country Cafe. Local beer/wine and cocktails from Traverse City Whiskey Company will also be served.

Admission to Recess is $15 and is open to the public. The event goes from 5pm to 7pm. Cherry Capital Airport is located at 727 Fly Don't Drive in Traverse City. Note: For parking, bring your parking ticket in from the short-term lot to have it validated in the airport gift shop. This will allow you to park for free for Recess.

Save the date for other upcoming Recess events on June 3, September 2, and December 2! Recess 2026 is brought to you by Grand Traverse County, a Grand Place to Live, Work & Play.
