Civic Center to Host Holiday Tree Stroll Friday

By Beth Milligan | Dec. 2, 2025

Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation will host its first ever Holiday Tree Stroll on Friday, December 5 from 3pm to 5pm at the Civic Center. Eight trees decorated by local organizations will be displayed at the free family-friendly event. Guests will be able to enjoy the trees, chat with representatives from the decorating organizations, and enjoy hot chocolate courtesy of Hangry’s.

Organizations who will be decorating trees include:

> Norte Youth Cycling
> Aloft Disc Golf
> Traverse City Roller Derby
> Grand Traverse Conservation District
> GT Bay YMCA
> TART Trails
> North Sky Raptor Sanctuary
> Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation

Children will be invited to write letters to Santa onsite, with the Parks and Rec team mailing them to the North Pole. Trees will remain available for viewing until January 24, when GT County Parks and Recreation hosts its annual Winterfest. The Civic Center is also a drop-off location for Toys for Tots this season, with visitors encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation.
