Couple Escape Serious Injury In M-22 Rollover

Aug. 30, 2016

A couple from Vicksburg escaped serious injury Sunday in a rollover accident on M-22 in Leland Township.

Leelanau County Sheriff's Office deputies and Leland Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the accident just south of Golfview Drive at 8:48pm. The couple were driving north on M-22 in their Jeep when a deer ran out into the roadway. The 60-year-old driver swerved to avoid the deer, causing him to lose control of the Jeep and the vehicle to roll over.

Both the driver and his 54-year-old wife were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
