First Performer Confirmed For 2026 Interlochen Arts Festival

By Craig Manning | Oct. 29, 2025

It will still be a few months before Interlochen Center for the Arts starts announcing acts for its summer 2026 concert series, but at least one performer is already confirmed for next year’s Interlochen Arts Festival. On Tuesday, Americana singer-songwriter Jason Isbell announced a string of 2026 tour dates with his longtime band, The 400 Unit, and Interlochen is on the schedule for Friday, July 24. Isbell and the 400 Unit previously performed at Interlochen’s Kresge Auditorium in June 2024.

Isbell’s most recent album, this year’s Foxes in the Snow, was an all-acoustic singer-songwriter affair, and the Americana star had previously announced a string of solo tour dates for 2026. The new shows with the full band will fit into Isbell’s schedule in between those solo engagements, and include stops at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado and a two-night stand at Chicago’s new indoor/outdoor venue The Salt Shed.

Opening acts on the tour include alt-country and Americana luminaries like Patty Griffin, David Rawlings and Gillian Welch, and Alejandro Escovedo, though the tour announcement does not indicate which of those artists, if any, will be joining Isbell and the 400 Unit in Interlochen.
