Domestic Violence Case Leads To Drug Investigation

Sept. 27, 2016

An argument over drug use caused an alleged domestic violence incident that brought police and Traverse Narcotics Team officers to a Blair Township home.

Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home Saturday at 12:36pm when neighbors heard a couple fighting and called 911.

Police found a 26-year-old woman who had suffered bruises after being punched but who did not require medical attention, says Capt. Randy Fewless. The woman and her 26-year-old boyfriend had argued about his drug use.

Deputies found what appeared to be drug-making equipment and a clear liquid substance in the home. The substance was sent away to be tested, and TNT was called in to investigate possible drug crimes. The boyfriend was arrested for domestic violence.
