By Beth Milligan | Aug. 31, 2023

Five candidates have accepted interviews for the position of Traverse City manager and will appear before city commissioners on Thursday, September 7. City commissioners agreed earlier this week to invite six candidates to interview - out of 88 total who applied and 13 who were recommended by consulting firm Amy Cell Talent - with one of those candidates subsequently dropping out.

The interview list includes two local candidates - Traverse City Clerk Benjamin Marentette and Grand Traverse County Deputy Administrator Chris Forsyth - as well as Milford Village Manager Christian Wuerth, Missaukee County Administrator and Chief Financial Officer Elizabeth Vogel, and Jessica Kinser, who most recently served as city administrator of Marshalltown, Iowa. Interviews will take place at the Governmental Center on September 7 at the following times:

10:45am: Elizabeth Vogel
11:30am: Benjamin Marentette
1pm: Christian Wuerth
1:45pm: Jessica Kinser
2:30pm: Chris Forsyth

A reception for the candidates will be held at 5pm the same day at the Governmental Center. Both the interviews and reception are open to the public.
