Grawn Man Killed in Motorcycle-Vehicle Accident

A 22-year-old Grawn man was killed in a motorcycle-vehicle crash this weekend on South Airport Road.

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office and Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department responded to the accident Friday at 9:20pm in Garfield Township. According to authorities, a motorcycle operated by the Grawn man was traveling west on South Airport Road and struck an eastbound pickup truck that was turning north onto Veterans Drive. The pickup truck was operated by a 73-year-old Traverse City man.

The Grawn man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The road was closed for approximately four-and-a-half hours. The crash is still under investigation. The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office and Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department were also assisted by the Michigan State Police and Grand Traverse County Road Commission at the scene.
