Hammond/Keystone Intersection Redesign Planned For Monday

By Beth Milligan | Oct. 17, 2020

The Grand Traverse County Road Commission will be reconfiguring the intersection of Hammond and Keystone roads Monday, adding a second left turn lane off of Hammond onto Keystone.

Workers will be grinding and restriping the intersection starting at 8:30 Monday and are expected to be finished by the end of the day. There will be traffic interruptions directed by flag control at the site. Motorists are advised to use Birmley Road as a detour. When the work is complete, two left turn lanes will be available on Hammond and cars will be staged closer to the traffic signal to provide increased traffic flow for vehicles turning from Hammond southbound onto Keystone, according to the Road Commission.
