Keystone Road Reopens Saturday To Two-Way Traffic

By Beth Milligan | July 29, 2022

Two newly constructed roundabouts on Keystone Road at the intersections of Cass and River roads will open for public use Saturday, allowing two-way traffic to resume in the corridor.

The roundabouts - along with Keystone and Cass roads - will open for both north-bound and south-bound traffic more than a month ahead of schedule. The Grand Traverse County Road Commission (GTCRC) thanked Team Elmer's in a Facebook post for the hard work of crews that allowed the corridor to reopen weeks early.

"Intermittent work will continue in these areas outside of the roadway with limited interference to traffic," GTCRC wrote in the post. "Please use caution, as workers will be in the right-of-way as they finalize the project. In late September, crews will be working on light poles and landscaping. At that time, traffic will be directed by flaggers. As it nears, an updated news release will be sent with more details."
