Kingsley Had A Big Sports Weekend

By Craig Manning | Nov. 23, 2025

Kingsley has a state-title winning team and another in the hunt for championship glory after a fruitful weekend of high school sports.

Kingsley High School’s varsity volleyball team took down a pair of tough opponents over the weekend to clinch the Division 3 state championship title – the first one in school history for that sport. The Lady Stags won a nailbiter five-set match on Friday to knock defending D3 champs Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central out of contention. Then, on Saturday, Kingsley, beat 2023 state champs Kalamazoo Christian 3-1 in the finals to make the championship season complete.

Kingsley’s football team, meanwhile, routed Kent City 14-0 in a Saturday playoff game to punch their ticket to the Division 6 state championship game. That contest will take place at Ford Field at 4pm this Friday, November 28, pitting the Stags against Jackson Lumen Christi. A win would bring Kingsley its third state title in football; the first two happened in 2005 and 2023, respectively.
