Lathrop Named To State Board

Grand Traverse County Commissioner Dr. Dan Lathrop has been appointed by Governor Rick Snyder to Michigan's State Community Corrections Board.

The 13-member board serves in an advisory capacity to the director of the Michigan Department of Corrections and is charged with making suggestions for improving community corrections program throughout the state. Lathrop - who was appointed for a four-year term ending in March 2019 - represents the general public on the board and replaces outgoing member Larry Inman, a former Grand Traverse County commissioner and current state representative.

"I thank these appointees for their willingness to serve our state in these important roles," Snyder of Lathrop and several other candidates appointed to the board.
