Leelanau County Burglary Investigated

Someone broke through a Leelanau County home's window while the residents were at church.

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a burglary at a home on South Briar Drive in Elmwood Township that happened between 9am and 11:30am Sunday.

Deputies were called at 11:46am. Someone entered the house by breaking a window and took small items, cash and the contents of a safe.

Undersheriff Steve Morgan says a substantial amount of money was taken. Anyone who saw anything suspicious should contact the sheriff’s office.
