Longtime Local Talk Radio Team Announces Joint Retirement

By Craig Manning | Jan. 16, 2026

Ron Jolly and Colleen Wares McClelland, the team behind one of northern Michigan’s most well-known talk radio shows, announced Friday that they will both be retiring this spring. The pair are the voices of the Ron Jolly Show, which airs every weekday from 7-10am on WTCM’s NewsTalk 580 station. They announced their retirement on air as part of their Friday morning broadcast.

“This will be our last January together,” Jolly said.

“That’s right; we are going to retire,” McLelland continued.

Jolly said that it was “not an easy thing to leave” but that “all the circumstances add up to that.” The pair’s final day on the air will be Friday April 10.

“We will make the most of it,” Jolly said of the remaining three months of the Ron Jolly Show. “The hardest part is leaving. We can’t see you, you can’t see us, but we are connected.

“We really thought it through, and we decided we would kind of hold hands and jump at the same time,” McLelland concluded.
