A 27-year-old Bay City man was arrested early Tuesday after allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend at gunpoint, forcing the man to drink alcohol, and stabbing him at a Garfield Township apartment complex.

Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene of the assault at 12:15am Tuesday. The victim, a 27-year-old Traverse City man, told authorities that his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend showed up at the residence and pointed a handgun at him, then ordered him to consume alcoholic beverages. At some point the suspect began stabbing the victim, and a physical fight ensued between the two men.

The victim was able to flee the apartment and get help from a neighbor. The suspect, meanwhile, fled the victim's apartment and was found by EMS and law enforcement laying in the grass at the apartment complex with injuries from the fight and a handgun nearby. The suspect was treated at Munson for his injuries and then taken to Grand Traverse County Jail on charges including attempted murder, unlawful imprisonment, felony firearms, felonious assault. The victim was also taken to Munson for injuries that occurred during the stabbing.

The incident is currently still under investigation, according to the Sheriff's Office. The case will also be reviewed by the prosecutor’s office.
