Man Arrested For Drunken Possession Of A Handgun

By Patrick Sullivan | Oct. 17, 2017

A 24-year-old Kingsley man faces charges after police found him drunk and in possession of a 9mm Glock.

A witness called 911 Friday at 7:34pm after he heard an argument and drunken threats outside of a Kingsley apartment building. A woman had refused a man entrance to her apartment, leading the man to make drunken threats to use his weapon in the parking lot outside, says Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Capt. Randy Fewless.

When deputies knocked on the door of the suspect, who lives in one of the apartments on South Brownson Avenue, he had a handgun in his waistband and registered a .24 blood alcohol level. The man was arrested and taken to Grand Traverse County Jail.
