Mt. Holiday Strides: New Tow Rope

Aug. 24, 2012

Last August, Mt. Holiday board members made an urgent plea for funds to keep the struggling recreation area and community ski hill operating. Today, they announce a small but substantial victory in their fight to strengthen Mt. Holiday: Tuckers Tow, a new rope tow that will aid in reduced lift lines and allow Mt. Holiday to expand its teaching, training and racing capabilities. Aided by a generous grant from the Byl family of Traverse City, the installation of the rope tow will kick off with a groundbreaking on Monday, August 27 at 6 p.m. The public is invite to journey to the top of the hill aboard the Hoxsie Farm wagon and take part in a short ceremony at 6:30 p.m., then enjoy a social hour at the Lodge. The board's next goal: to raise more funds to refresh and expand the lighting on the hill.  Want to help support Mt. Holiday? Volunteer or donate here.
