New Interlochen Library Unveiling

Oct. 22, 2014

The Interlochen Public Library Board of Trustees will unveil the plans for a new library building this evening at an Open House, 4-7pm, at the current building (9700 Riley Road). The new building is slated for a site adjacent to the Green Lake Township offices off M-137. According to library officials, the new building is seen as "the spark needed to develop a town center" as envisioned by the Village of Interlochen's development plan.

A capital campaign has been launched to raise $2.5 million for the new building, which will double the library's space and is designed to accommodate patrons' growing use of technology to access information. The plans also include a community center.
