New Recreation Center in GT County?

Sept. 18, 2013

The Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation Commission will discuss a long-range proposal to develop an indoor fieldhouse in the county at its monthly meeting this Thurs., Sept 19, 6 p.m. at the Governmental Center (Commission Chambers on the second floor).

The fieldhouse could accommodate basketball, volleyball and other activities as well as workout facilities and possibly even a daycare, according to the county's Parks and Recreation Director Jason Jones.

Commissioners will review a need/feasibility update of the 10-year vision and discuss potential partners, including Northwestern Michigan College and Traverse City Area Public Schools.
