New Shops Open in Downtown TC

Aug. 19, 2013

Meadowsweet, a new store offering a mix of new and upcycled furniture, home accessories and gifts, is slated to open next month at 418 S. Union in Traverse City's Old Town district. The shop will also feature items made by local artists and craftsmen. The building, longtime home of T. Moeggenberg Professional Men's Wear, was purchased by Global Marine Insurance earlier this summer. Meadowsweet is looking for additional vendors to lease store space. More info available by calling Judy, 231.649.1428 or emailing jabiehl@charter.net.

In other retail news, High Five Threads has opened a second location in downtown Traverse City. The shop, which carries Michigan-inspired apparel, first opened in The Mercato at The Village at Grand Traverse Commons a few years ago. Owners Lance Hill and Byron Pettigrew recently acquired TC apparel company Two Bays, now a brand under High Five Threads, and opened their second retail store at 140 E. Front (former home of Recklace Necklace) in the Front Street Commons.
