NMC Signs Agreement with Chinese School

June 28, 2014

Northwestern Michigan College is signing a "sister school" agreement today with Yellow River Conservancy Technical Institute in Kaifeng, China in an effort to facilitate communication about project and program prioritization.

Administrators from Yellow River spent yesterday and today in Traverse City learning about NMC's water studies and engineering technology programs and also meeting with NMC personnel in admissions and international services.

NMC and Yellow River hope to build on the interests they agreed upon when NMC representatives visited China in March. Those interests include developing a faculty exchange program and short-format student exchanges, initiating joint faculty work on a water studies and engineering technology pathway and joint participation in specialized areas of study.
