Northern Michigan's Most Wanted
Jan. 5, 2015
Just four officers - part of the Michigan State Police 7th District Fugitive Team - spend their days looking for fugitives in an area that covers the northern section of Lower Michigan and the entire Upper Peninsula. Yet the team catches an average of two to four fugitives a day, ranging from the recently absconded to those long MIA.
In this week's Northern Express - The Ticker's sister publication - reporter Patrick Sullivan goes behind the scenes with the group to learn how they track down fugitives, some of their biggest victories in the field, and their current most wanted list - the northern Michigan cases that continue to elude them. Read more in this week's cover story, "Northern Michigan's Most Wanted."
This week's Express also includes a special profile of Petoskey Film Theater's founder Craig Stutzky, a Q&A with Boyne City "funk brothers" The Pistil Whips, a special feature story on becoming a DNR summer campground host – and much more! Check out the Northern Express online, or pick up a free copy at one of more than 600 distribution spots across 13 counties. And, stay connected throughout the week on Facebook.
