Public Hearing Set for Golf Project

April 16, 2014

A public hearing will be held on May 14 for a new outdoor family entertainment center planned at 4163 Meadow Lane Drive, west of U.S. 31 in Garfield Township.

The township’s planning commission scheduled the hearing to allow public input into the project, which would include a driving range and miniature golf course, along with badminton, bocci and croquet courts. Commissioners have raised concerns about stray golf balls from the driving range landing on nearby properties. A 30-foot tall screen would be installed to reduce the chance of stray drives, but commissioners urged owner Leonard Broughton to consider redesigning the driving range layout.
