Railroad Avenue Closures Start Monday

By Beth Milligan | Sept. 11, 2023

The 100 and 400 blocks of Railroad Avenue will be closed starting Monday, September 11 for construction work. The road is expected reopen at the end of day on Monday, September 25.

The 100 block of Railroad Avenue will be closed from Franklin Street to the alley to the south. The 400 block will be closed from East Eighth Street to the alley to the north. Work is weather dependent, and modifications to the schedule may be necessary.

Construction is in preparation for the state's reconstruction of Grandview Parkway and East Front Street starting in March 2024. Railroad Avenue will serve as part of the detour route for westbound traffic during that project.
