Rowing Facility Coming to Hull Park?

Sept. 9, 2013

Traverse City commissioners will consider a proposal tonight by Traverse Area Community Rowing (TACR) to build a 3,000 square-foot community rowing boathouse and storage facility on city-owned land in Hull Park on Boardman Lake. The non-profit TACR would cover the facility's construction, maintenance and operational costs in exchange for usage of the land. Dustin Ordway, president of the board of directors at TACR, says the organization would offer rental of rowing shells, instructional classes and safety training to local residents at a nominal cost. The proposal is supported by the Traverse City Parks and Recreation Commission.
